Ultimate Scale RC is a developer of super scale kits and other products that take existing RC platforms to the Ultimate Level of Scale Detail. The primary focus is to bring your RC rig to as close to the 1:1 counter part as viably possible. With key features of functioning doors, hoods, tail gates, hard mounted body systems, fuel tanks, proper scale suspension set up, body correction pieces where needed and much more. The closer we can get to the scale of the real vehical model the better!
The K-10 Super Scale Kit is our debute product.
This is a 35 plus piece kit set. The kit converts the RC4WD Chevy Scottsdale 4X4 RTR and the stand alone K-10 Scottsdale body into a full cab with functioning doors with high interior geometry detail. Seat frames to convert the seats to stand alone bucket seats. A sectioned front clip with scale radiator core support, radiator and fan shroud. Filler section to correct the grill frame slant. Frame extensions and frame body mounts to hard mount the body and dual fuel tanks for your electronics and battery lead storage.
The K-10 Super Scale Kit is supported with a complete video tutorial series on our Youtube channel along with the Builders Forum here on the site. These are your instructions, this kit will require custom parts fitting, that involves cutting with varouse saws and other cutting tools. Finnish sanding, using automotive body fillers, a range glues and paint. You will need to modify and fit parts using files, sanding paper along with cutting out the doors of the cab. Do not attempt to build any portion of this kit unless you have watched the corrosponding tutorial first. This is not something you will be able to build from set of instructions. You must be shown and its important to follow the correct process for a successful build.
The cab conversion consist of cutting out the doors and sectioning off the front clip. From here you will install the floor pan, door jams, headliner frame and the hinged door frames to the now cut out door panels. Later in the build you will convert the stock seats to stand alone buckets using the provided seat bases and install inner door cards. Optional door weather stripping is provided to make it look all that more scale!
Now you will install the fender upper mount blocks, radiator support and install the correction filler piece to correct the grill frame angle.
Once these pieces are glued and epoxied in place, you will sculpt out any undesirable inconsistancies to match the 1:1 version. Then finnish sand and paint. You are now ready to install the radiator and core support top piece. A super scale modification you can easilly add to the upgraded grill RC4WD offers is to cut out the backing section behind the grill insert to reveil your new radiator and core support!
Now for the chassis conversion; here you will install the front and rear frame extensions and reverse the front shackles to trail the leaf springs. This is not an option and is how the 1:1 is. The front frame extension intagrates the frame mounts for the radiator support along with relocating the steering servo under the core support. The rear frame extention allows for the bumper mnt pins to slide out to allow for box removall and battery access. Duel fuels tanks provide a place for electonics and battery leads to be tucked away. Cab frame mounts are include to hard mount the cab to the frame just the real deal!
Now you are ready for paint and finall assembly of the Super Scale Kit build process. Once here you can add further scale detail with a slue of available components from RC4WD and other after market developers. We will of coarse be improving and adding on to this kit as we go. We are only getting started here, this kit will evolve and other truck models will be coming to expand this into a full product line of different offerings.
This kit offers the enjoyment of building and modelling with the reward of an end result that just can not be bought straight out of a box. Even though its a kit, this is yours, its your efforts to make the end result that you end up with. That part cant be bought and remember scale is in the ilusion of detail!
